Diego Donna is Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Bologna, where he teaches History of Modern and Contemporary Philosophy. His research focuses on the main themes of theories of experience in modern philosophy, the philosophy and theory of systems in modern and contemporary philosophy, the hermeneutics of the Enlightenment. Doctor Europaeus (University of Bologna/Utrecht) and Research fellow in the Herméneutique des Lumières project (FNS, Université de Genève/Bologna), he has been a Visiting Scholar at Universities and Research centres, including Université Lyon III, Birkbeck College of London, Princeton University, Utrecht University. He is member of the European Society for Early Modern Philosophy. At the Department of Philosophy (Unibo), he is a founding member of the International Center for Spinoza Studies ‘Sive Natura,’ a member of the Knowledge and Cognition Research Center, and part of the research group Philosophies in Translation. He is coordinator of the research group Enlightenment. Histories and Philosophies. By coordinating various international colloquia as well as engaging in intense dialogue and exchange of knowledge across Europe, Diego Donna has focused for years on the comparison between modern and contemporary philosophies (from Descartes, Spinoza, and the Philosophes to the Frankfurt School, Canguilhem, Simondon, Foucault, Blumenberg, Luhmann, Serres, among others), promoting an image of rationality that does not solidify into a systematic body of theories, nor into an ideology of progress, but rather relaunches the connection between nature, technology and forms of life. Among his recent publications: I diagrammi della filosofia.
